Luxury Bedding to Shop This Memorial Day Weekend

Good sleep: We all crave it, but only a select few can go whole, eight-hour nights without needing to pop a melatonin gummy or rob themselves of sight by way of a sleep mask. And though there’s no shortage of sleep products on the market that aid in what TikTok has dubbed “sleepmaxxing,” we’ll let you in on a little secret — sometimes, all it takes to reset your sleep routine is upgrading the sheets under your body.

Each time summer comes along, like clockwork, the fashion-forward among us start planning out wardrobe overhauls and pinpointing all the new designer collections their closets are missing. Beds deserve the same kind of seasonal refresher: in the form of bedding that looks chic and also works with your sleep goals in mind. And what better time for all that than Memorial Day Weekend, when leading home brands are known to discount their ware by as much as half off and sometimes even more?

Our editors are chronic deal hunters who are obsessed with achieving hotel-level sleep from the comforts of home. What this means — you can trust us to round up the best of the best in the world of online bedding deals, accompanied by first-person reviews in which we’ll go into the specifics of what makes each brand’s most popular sheet sets worth your hard-earned money and the kinds of sleepers they’re best suited for.

As with clothes, there are budget bedsheets and luxury bedsheets on the market; besides their noticeable price difference, you’ll also find that the latter category pays dividends in greater quality. It is these premium bedding sets that we’ll be focusing on here, because you and your ZZZs are more than deserving of the indulgence.

It can be tough to hone in on the pillows, duvet covers, and mattresses that are ready to adapt to your unique needs, and it’s no different with the best bedding sets of 2026, given the dozens of worthy alternatives that have cropped up as of late: vying for your attention and credit card number.

To make things easier on you (because true rest is all about ease, in every sense of the word!), we’ve curated a list of the best on-sale luxury bedding sets and brands to shop online this Memorial Day weekend — while demystifying the concept of thread count, the particulars of percale versus sateen, and a multitude of related concepts.

For the task at hand, we consulted interior designer Amy Switzer — who has more than two decades of expertise in the bedding space — as well as textile expert Saana Baker, editor-in-chief of the publication “The Textile Eye,” and Preeti Arya, PhD., assistant professor of textile development and marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Ready to finally feel like royalty when hitting the hay and make sure your wallet isn’t collateral damage? You’ve come to the right place.

Best Bedding Sets to Shop on Sale This Memorial Day

Hand-selected and hand-tested by our editors, here are all the best standalone deals on bedding sets, pillowcases, fitted sheets, flat sheets, and more to shop before the warm weather arrives in full (and brings with it stuffy, potentially restless nights).

    Buffy

    Editor’s choice

    Buffy Breeze Sheet Set

Buffy has received countless accolades for its famous Cloud Comforter, Breeze Comforter, Cloud Pillow, and Body Pillow, but the Breeze Sheet Set is likely the brand’s most well-known buy. True to its name, the set is manufactured out of 100-percent Tencel lyocell from sustainably farmed eucalyptus: a material that’s been proven to grant a better cooling effect than cotton. Free from harmful chemicals and colored with plant-based dyes, the Buffy top-seller is additionally hypoallergenic and moisture-wicking — quite an impressive resume.

Whatever your interior design aesthetic is, Buffy has a Breeze Sheet Set style for you (no matter if you’re leaning towards the ornate Paisley or, like us, wish to keep things lowkey with a simple yet striking White). In case something goes south, the trusted, industry-leading company has a 50-night, risk-free return policy, plus a complimentary, three-year warranty to help you sleep better at night.

Editor testing and review notes: “In the White colorway, the Buffy top sheet mirrors the fabric of an expensive wedding dress: That’s how well-made this whole set is. The pillowcases have glorious envelope closure and not-too-wide, delineated edging for an extra-crisp feel. But my favorite aspect? Hands down the fitted sheet: so smooth you want to instantly splay out on it. Other special details that go the extra mile include ‘head’ and ‘foot’ labels and mattress-wrapping straps for a tighter fit. I left a small stain on the sheet while eating popcorn in bed (I’m just a girl!), but the material ensured it was super easy to wipe clean — drying in a completely incognito way. It was seriously tempting to brush my feet over the Buffy bed linens all day, because their silky softness mimics slipping into a perfect envelope. The pillowcases, too, were gentle on my skin, and my complexion looked better upon waking. What’s not to love?” — WWD Shop Senior Commerce Writer Stacia Datskovska

    Cozy Earth

    Editor’s choice

    Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set

Cozy Earth is loved by Oprah and Kris Jenner alike, so it’s definitely a luxe bedding brand that demands to be known… and shopped. Though one of its trendiest rollouts is the editor-tested Cuddle Blanket, all eyes are currently on Cozy Earth’s roster of bamboo bedding, which prioritizes breathability, durability (it’s pilling-proof for 10 years), and the kind of softness that just might prompt you to hit the snooze button one too many times. For that, you’d be forgiven.

Other commendable attributes of this set include an oversized fit that’s optimal for deep-pocket mattresses and a subtle sheen that can add even more refinement to your bedroom sanctuary. Scanning the review section for Cozy Earth’s Bamboo Sheet Set, a few unifying sentiments also crop up. Mainly, “the best sheets I’ve ever had,” “it doesn’t get better than this for a good night’s sleep,” and “world’s softest sheets.” Use this information wisely.

Editor testing and review notes: “As soon as I put these sheets on my bed, it was easy to see why they’re so hyped up: The bedding set is just that good! I was not prepared for the level of soft silkiness that led to a hotel stay–evoking sleep. The fabric here is lightweight and breezy, which will delight all hot sleepers like yours truly. The sheets are also not as prone to wrinkling or pilling as other bedding I’ve owned in the past — the ultimate cherry on top.” — Former WWD Senior Commerce Editor Lauren Fisher

    Ettitude Signature Bamboo Sheet Set

It’s really no wonder Ettitude’s ultra-soft bedding, crafted out of patented CleanBamboo fibers, has been shouted out by celebrities from Hilary Duff to Mandy Moore. As the brand explains, “CleanBamboo is a lyocell made from organic bamboo, and uses a food-grade organic solvent in the [manufacturing] process, unlike all other bamboo fabrics made with toxic viscose/rayon technology or cotton grown with pesticides.”

Not only are you guaranteed a toxin-free sleep, but falling asleep faster and staying asleep longer will also form a new reality for you when you make the Ettitude switch — a dream arrangement. Shockingly, the Signature Bamboo Sheet Set isn’t made from 100-percent silk but has just as glossy of a texture, on a visual and tactile level. Still on the fence? Maybe knowing that the bundle is dermatologist-approved will convince you to finally click “add to cart.”

Editor testing and review notes: “I’m not exaggerating when I say this sateen set is to DIE for. The softness? Incredible. The stitching? Sumptuous. The only thing missing for me is envelope closure on the pillowcases, but, considering how outstanding the bedsheets are overall, this is a minor point I can overlook. The fitted sheet component did look a bit drapey-slash-loose on the bed, though I nevertheless loved tucking myself in with it underneath my body, night in and night out. My legs could move without that dreaded sandpaper sensation, and, aesthetics-wise, the Cloud hue was a match made in heaven for a darker duvet cover from Ettitude. (My suggestion? Almond all the way.)” — Datskovska

Brooklinen Classic Percale Core Sheet Set

Keep waking up in a sweat? You need a cooling sheet set for the summer, dear reader! This award winner from Brooklinen put the TikTok-viral bedding destination on the map in the first place and is widely praised for its matte crispness, expansive assortment of colorways and patterns, as well as the all-night breathability doled out by its pillowcases, fitted sheet, and flat sheet. A bonus? Pillowcase envelope closures, which are harder to find in bedding sets than you think (and you already know how passionate I am about them). The Brooklinen Classic Percale Core Sheet Set’s top styles keep selling out across Queen and King sizes, so take this as your sign to shop today: securing deeper sleep on airier sheets.

And if you can’t decide if percale is right for you, know that it “gives the absorbency and comfort of cotton,” per Preeti Arya, Ph.D., assistant professor of textile development and marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology, because it’s a type of cotton fabric. Resistance to snags and tears is a major benefit here too, thanks to percale’s tight weave.

Editor testing and review notes: “What first struck me about this sheet set is its smell: sweet and woody right out of the box, which is a perk since most brands mandate that you wash their sheets before use to eliminate an almost chemical-like aroma. As with all Brooklinen fitted sheets, the one here had ‘long’ and ‘short’ markings that made easing it over my mattress easy as pie. The pillowcases felt way smoother on my cheek than the brand’s Washed European Linen line that I also tested, and all the sheets maintained their coolness during the many mid-day naps I took on them. What’s more, those stripes somehow make my bed look bigger, and who can complain about that?!” — Datskovska

    Parachute Brushed Cotton Venice Set

Founded in 2014, Parachute is an internet-darling bedding company operating with the mission of bringing laid-back elegance to every abode. Last year, it expanded beyond neutrals-dominated palettes by releasing five all-new, summery shades for its bestselling linen sheets. This particular set is made of cotton and prides itself on supreme airflow, a gentle underhand feel, and an intentionally lived-in look that’s achieved through Parachute’s special brushing technique. Reviewers note that, unlike darker bedding, the sheets don’t visibly shed, even after dozens of washes (a veritable godsend). Don’t believe the 1,000-plus five-star reviews yet? Buy a set, and get back to us later.

Editor testing and review notes: “I’ve never had dark bedding before, but it’s safe to say I’m a convert after trialing these luxury bedsheets from Parachute. Color is literally the biggest draw here, in my opinion, and I caught myself dreaming about going back to the beauty of my bed multiple times a day (PSA: Get the set in Dusk). On the fabric front, you’ll come face to face with 100-percent cotton that’s been brushed and washed, making the sheets oh-so-buttery. The fitted sheet specifically hugged my mattress very well and looked practically creaseless, though the pillowcases left a bit of a gap (but this might be because I have very rotund pillows). Making my bed in the morning felt satisfying with this set — another reason why I give it my whole-hearted seal of approval.” — Datskovska

What to Consider When Shopping for the Best Luxury Bedding

When shopping for luxury bedding, there are several important factors to consider — so as to ensure you’re selecting the best option for your preferences and needs. Luxury bedding distinguishes itself from affordable alternatives in multiple ways, per interior designer Amy Switzer. “The material quality, thread count, feel, comfort, durability, attention to detail, breathability, temperature regulation, brand reputation, and certification all set luxury bedding apart from everything else on the market,” she reiterates.

Before investing in luxury bedding, you’ll want to pay attention to the following considerations:

Materials: Bedding made from high-quality materials such as Egyptian or Pima cotton, which are known for their luxurious feel, is always a safe bet. These days, though, cotton’s supremacy is losing its foothold to alternative fabrics like bamboo, hemp, flax, and even, as Buffy’s Breeze Sheet Set will have you know, eucalyptus. We’ll go into specifics later, but be sure to choose the kind of bedding that both feels good to rest on and also scores high in durability, softness, and longevity.

Thread count: Thread count refers to the number of horizontal and vertical threads per every square inch of a given fabric. While a higher thread count does signal a denser weave, potentially smoother texture, and certainty that “it will last more laundry cycles without getting easily worn out,” per Arya, it’s not the only element responsible for a sheet set’s quality. “Sometimes, manufacturers use multi-ply threads (where multiple thinner threads are twisted together) to inflate the thread count without necessarily improving quality,” Switzer says.

Certifications: When shopping for luxury bedding, Switzer advises looking for sets that hold certifications such as Oeko-Tex Standard-100 or those indicating organic, sustainably sourced materials. “These can demonstrate a commitment to quality and ethical manufacturing practices, which is very important,” Switzer tells WWD.

Price: Luxury bedding often comes with a steeper price tag, so consider what you’re willing to spend while being prepared to invest in a quality product meant to last a lifetime. However, as with anything online, also stay cautious of excessive prices that may not necessarily reflect superior quality. We made sure to personally vet everything on this list for your peace of mind, while being considerate of varying budgets.

Quality assurance: Many brands have warranties, which is good news for customers (luxury bedding isn’t cheap, after all!). The logic goes as follows: If a brand has a warranty, this means that it puts trust in its quality, and you, by proxy, can feel confident in your purchase. Warranties can range from a few months to multiple years, during which timeframe the brand will refund your purchase if it’s defective or repair any damages incurred.

The Best Luxury Bedding Materials to Shop

You’ll want to consider your climate environment, overall home aesthetic, and sleeping habits when selecting specific materials for luxury bedding, explains Switzer. “In warmer regions, breathable and lightweight materials, like linen or bamboo rayon, are great choices as they help maintain a cooler sleep environment,” she says. “Warmer and insulating materials such as flannel or thicker cotton might be more suitable for colder climates to provide extra warmth and comfort.”

Linen: “Flax, the fiber used to make linen, has long been valued for its breathability and natural texture and is having a moment. I am a huge fan!” Saana Baker, founder and editor-in-chief of “The Textile Eye,” tells us. “Like hemp, it’s excellent from a sustainability standpoint — growing readily with minimal water and pesticide use.” Some individuals enjoy the natural texture of linen, while others may prefer the smoothness of materials like cotton or silk (“linen sheets do tend to have a rougher hand feel than finer cotton sheets, particularly those woven in a sateen structure, which yields a softer, smoother finish,” says Baker). “For anyone new to linen bedding, I recommend starting with a softened linen rather than a traditional one — it’s a gentler introduction. When in doubt, buying only a set of pillowcases is a wise way to test out the feel,” Baker continues. Looks are important to keep in mind, too. “Fibers like hemp and flax have their own drape and luster that is superior to cotton. Therefore, these two fibers are sometimes preferred over cotton sheets because of their beauty,” Arya shares.

Silk: Silk bedding’s TL;DR is that it’s incredibly smooth, soft, and luxurious. The material is naturally resistant to dust mites, mold, and mildew, making silk a safe choice for individuals with allergies. The smooth surface ensures hair and skin isn’t exposed to friction, which helps minimize breakage and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Want the kind of gentle introduction to silk Baker talks about in terms of linen? Shop our editor-vetted list of the best silk pillowcases on the market.

Cotton: There is a range of cotton that is popular in luxury bedding, differing based on the origin of the material. Egyptian and Pima share similar characteristics, such as long-staple fibers that contribute to their softness and durability. Cotton is highly breathable and wicks away moisture from the body, making it a great buy for those who run hot and might experience night sweats or hot flashes.

Bamboo: Bamboo-derived fabric is a sustainable choice, with a similar softness and feel of silk sheets. It’s also thermoregulating, meaning it provides warmth in cooler weather and the cool feel you’re craving during the summertime. Many top-of-the-line bamboo sheets come with perks like enhanced durability (Cozy Earth’s Bamboo Sheet Set, as an example, promises to stand up against pilling for 10 years).

Eucalyptus: Similar to the aforementioned bamboo, eucalyptus is trending in the bedding space because of its lightness, mighty thermoregulation abilities, and inherent sustainability. Due to the material’s moisture-wicking capabilities, it’s also a go-to during the summertime. When a brand’s bedding is made from eucalyptus, it’s usually crafted from a plant-based Tencel lyocell blend which, like hemp and flax, cuts back on water usage during production (a win for both your REM cycle and the planet). Note that while bamboo sheets start off soft, eucalyptus sheets often have a rougher hand feel at first but soften with time and regular washing.

How to Care for Your Luxury Cotton and Linen Bedding

White cotton sheets: “Basic white sheets are remarkably durable — even with regular use and washing. Warm or hot water is generally fine, and I recommend using a mild detergent. After washing, give the sheets a good shake and stretch out the corners and edges to release wrinkles before they go into the dryer,” Baker suggests. “It also helps to remove them halfway through the cycle if they’ve balled up — shake them out and return them to the dryer to prevent uneven drying and set-in creases.” She also mentions that overdrying is the number one culprit for limiting sheets’ potential.

Linen sheets: “Linen sheets follow similar rules, though they tend to wrinkle more easily. When folding linen, I like to keep a water sprayer on hand to lightly mist the edges and smooth them with my hands,” says Baker. “I’ll often leave them partially folded overnight to let any remaining moisture evaporate before finishing the fold and putting them away.”

Colored or printed sheets: According to Baker, sheets with embroidery, prints, dyed colors, or stitched edges require a bit more care than your typical bedding set. “Stick to warm water (or cold if you are concerned about prints and colors fading), avoid overdrying, and use color-safe bleach if needed. And make sure to check the care labels for any specialty items,” she shares with WWD.

Stain removal: “I recommend soaking heavily soiled sheets or pillowcases overnight in a bucket with a tablespoon of Dawn dish soap and a scoop of OxiClean — it’s surprisingly effective,” says Baker. “Occasional use of regular bleach is fine, too. Just be sure to run an extra rinse cycle to eliminate any residue. I’ve used this method on my own white sheets, including some that are still going strong after two decades. Avoid fabric softeners and dryer sheets and use wool dryer balls in your dryer.”

Our shopping editors continue to uphold WWD’s editorial standards and values with quality, expert-backed product selections.

Finding the best luxury bedding was no easy feat. With so many brands putting themselves squarely into the “luxury” category, at least in context of price points, we had to do our own meticulous product testing (yes, a lot of laying in bed was involved!) — assessing materials, fit, style, breathability, softness, and other variables across more than 20 top-of-the-line brands and many months, ultimately honing in on nine luxury bedding sets of the finest quality. Additionally, our team cross-referenced customer reviews from various retailers and leaned on experts — Amy Switzer, Saana Baker, and Preeti Arya, PhD. — for invaluable insights.
