WNBA standout Cameron Brink helped debut one of New Balance’s latest basketball sneakers in May and has received a handful of player exclusive colorways since signing with the brand in 2023, but fans haven’t been able to purchase her personalized pairs — until now.
New Balance announced Friday the upcoming launch of a new “Malibu Melt” player exclusive sneaker pack for Brink, which will include both the on-court P400 Low performance shoe and the off-court 740 lifestyle model. Each style takes inspiration from the city Brink calls home, specifically referencing the glow of a Los Angeles sunset.
The duo’s P400 Low is the more colorful of the group, donning a pink mesh upper with gradient details shifting from purple to yellow throughout with a buttery yellow color filling in the tongue and liner. From a performance standpoint, the pair includes the same dual-density Fresh Foam X cushioning found in other P400 Lows as well as supportive lockdown through the N-Lock lacing integration, which doubles as the sneaker’s logo.
Brink’s New Balance 740 is a bit more toned down, yet still plenty colorful. It’s based around a sunny yellow gradient look that lends in pink throughout the branding and synthetic overlays. Designed as an everyday shoe, the 740 is less tech-heavy than some of New Balance’s popular lifestyle models, but it does include the brand’s signature Abzorb cushioning in the midsole.

In May, Brink told Footwear News that the P400 Low was well-equipped for her style of play and that the 740 was one of her favorite off-duty shoes — perhaps foreshadowing the Malibu Melt pack that was to come.
“Being the first women’s basketball player to sign with New Balance is a huge honor,” Brink told FN. I’m grateful they believed in me from the beginning and supported me through college into the WNBA.”
Brink’s New Balance Malibu Melt player exclusive pack will be released later this year from newbalance.com and select North American New Balance retailers. An exact release date has not been confirmed, but the P400 Low will retail for $130, while the 740 will be priced at $120.
