THE WHAT? L’Oréal is investing EGP 240 million (€4 million) to expand its Egyptian manufacturing operation, increasing production capacity and strengthening the site’s role as the group’s manufacturing and export hub for the Middle East and North Africa.
THE DETAILS he 10th of Ramadan City plant is L’Oréal’s only manufacturing facility in MENA and produces hair care, skincare and hair colour products. The expansion will increase capacity and operational efficiency to support domestic demand and exports into existing and new regional markets. Over the past five years, the facility has manufactured 442 million units, with 85 percent of production exported to 20 countries across MENA. The investment also builds on L’Oréal’s localisation strategy in Egypt, with the facility operating on 100 percent renewable energy and using recycled or reused water for all industrial processes since January 2025.
THE WHY? The investment expands L’Oréal’s regional supply and manufacturing infrastructure at a strategically important MENA production base, increasing its ability to serve multiple markets from Egypt while supporting greater local production and export capacity.
