L’Agence caters to petite customers in its newest collection.
On Monday, the Los Angeles-based brand launched Les Petites, it’s first assortment of jeans designed specifically for women five-foot-four and under. The brand describes the jeans as “perfectly proportioned” for the petite consumer.
The collection is a direct response to customer feedback and the brand’s continued investment in the denim category.
“She is very important to us and in many cases, is already a L’Agence customer,” Jeff Rudes, L’Agence chairman and creative director, said about the brand’s petite-sized consumer. “[Les Petites] is what she has been waiting for, and this addition was natural.”
Rather than simply shortening an inseam, every style has been re-engineered with adjusted rises, pocket placement and knee breaks to preserve the integrity of the original fit. “It’s all about the fit and our woman knows to come to us for perfect proportions,” said Tara Rudes Dann, L’Agence fashion director.

The debut collection offers seven of L’Agence’s best-selling silhouettes. Styles include the Ruth straight-leg jean, Salem bootcut, Quincy wide leg and Scottie wide leg in a variety of medium to dark indigo washes. The Marty flare, Kendra cropped flare and Scottie wide leg are also available in coated black for a leather effect. Inseams average 30 inches, with a cropped flare hitting at 24 inches.
Rudes Dann added that the petite collection “opens up a world of opportunity.”
Denim brands are trying to meet the needs of underserved sizes. Next month, A Tall Box will debut its collection of jeans designed for women five-foot-nine and over. Frame introduced a petite version of its popular Pixie Gray jean with model Amelia Gray and Mother has expanded its Lil’ collection of popular fits for consumers five-foot-four and under.
Les Petites jeans retail for $245-$395. The collection is available now on the brand’s website, boutiques and select retail partners.
