Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel are married! The 1975 frontman and model, former musician, and it-girl celebrated their nuptials with a starry guest list at Castillo del Lago in Los Angeles. Among them, Charli XCX and her husband, Healy’s bandmate, George Daniel.
Sources told press that the now Mr. and Mrs. Healy set an old Hollywood glamour dress code for the occasion: Charli and George, among the first of their most famous friends to arrive, coordinated in sleek—and appropriately gothic given that it’s Gabbriette’s wedding—all-blacks.
The Music, Fashion, Film singer opted for a ruffled black wrap gown with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit, paired with Jimmy Choo Love slingbacks, a black clutch bag, and black Bulgari square-framed sunglasses. Daniel wore a classic monochromatic suit complete with shirt and tie.
Other guests in attendance at the glitzy wedding—which took place at Madonna’s former estate in Los Angeles—followed the same style notes. Bride-to-be Devon Lee Carlson (who announced her engagement last month) was there with her fiancé, actor Duke Nicholson: Carlson wore a vintage, gray and black cheetah print Roberto Cavalli dress. Her sister Sydney chose a beaded cream and black ’30s-style flapper dress, while model Alex Consani wore a black slip adorned with crystal flowers and butterflies. Stassie Karanikolaou wore a bodyskimming black gown, waist cinched with braided ropes.
As for the bride? Gabbriette wore a voluminous white dress with a sweetheart neckline and sculpted bodice, ruffled long sleeves, and a full skirt that fell into an intricately embroidered train. Plus, an extra-long, diaphanous, dramatic veil. Healy wore a classic black tuxedo with a corsage pinned to his lapel.
Charli XCX and George Daniel will celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary later this week. The couple were married in a London courthouse wedding, with Charli choosing a classic Vivienne Westwood Nova Cora mini, with a simple veil and white Jimmy Choo Amita heels. For their second Sicily-set nuptials, Charli shifted gears and wore a sheer, floaty dress by Danielle Frankel with organza micro petals and dripping baroque pearls.
The couple also attended the recent Sicily-set wedding of Dua Lipa and Callum Turner, and Charli wore layered, sheer black JW Anderson dress.
Wedding guest dressing can be a tough gig, but for Matty and Gabbriette, it was always going to lean both old-school nostalgic and contemporary gothic, so the vision was there. And as Charli proves, dressing up for a wedding and adhering to dress codes doesn’t ever have to mean compromising your style.
Likely, Gabbriette changed into a second dress to party the night away. Congratulations to the happy couple!
