THE WHAT? Target has voluntarily recalled selected Up & Up Fragrance Free and Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes after testing identified potential microbial contamination that could pose serious health risks to consumers.
THE DETAILS The recall follows customer complaints regarding product discoloration and FDA testing that detected the presence of Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli in affected products. The recalled wipes were manufactured by supplier Sapro Temizlik Urunleri and sold nationwide through Target stores and Target.com. The products include multiple pack sizes of Up & Up Fragrance Free Baby Wipes and Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes produced between November 2025 and May 2026. Target and the manufacturer have received consumer complaints and adverse event reports alleging symptoms including skin irritation, eye irritation and infections potentially linked to product use. Consumers have been advised to stop using the products immediately and return them to Target for a full refund.
THE WHY? The bacteria identified in the products can cause serious and potentially life-threatening infections, particularly among newborns, infants, young children and immunocompromised individuals, prompting the recall as a precautionary measure to protect consumer safety.
