THE WHAT? Astorg-owned ingredients manufacturer Solabia has announced a strategic restructuring to strengthen its position in cosmetics, nutraceuticals and biotechnology, alongside the appointment of Muriel Koch as President and Chief Executive Officer.
THE DETAILS Solabia plans to divest its microbiology diagnostics division to Oxoid Remel Microbiology, another Astorg portfolio company, subject to regulatory approvals and definitive agreements. The move follows its acquisition of Mibelle Biochemistry in June 2026, strengthening its position in cosmetic active ingredients. Muriel Koch, formerly CEO of Groupe NUXE, will take over on 29 October 2026, succeeding Jean-Baptiste Dellon, who led the company for four and a half years. The restructuring will concentrate resources on natural and biotechnology-derived active ingredients while supporting international expansion.
THE WHY? The strategic repositioning reflects growing investment in science-backed cosmetic ingredients and the consolidation of specialist suppliers. By concentrating on its core markets and strengthening its leadership, Solabia aims to accelerate innovation, expand its international presence and reinforce its position within the global beauty ingredients industry.
