Gone are the days when models were expected to dress like a blank canvas. The new crop of fresh faces is embracing their personal style and expressing their individuality through their fashion choices—be it jeans and a tee or a statement dress. Every month, Vogue will dive into the stylish wardrobes of a model of the moment to see what they’re wearing off the runways. Consider these the perfect references to pin to your seasonal mood board—because is there anything cooler than model-off-duty style?
This month, meet Peng Chang—a 26-year-old Taiwanese model based in Taipei, where she is currently signed with Over:Face Management. The runway star was scouted by a photographer while still in school, and the rest is history: Chang has since made her catwalk debut at Burberry’s spring 2024 show, and now struts for labels such as Balenciaga, TWP, and Off-White, too.
But it’s not just her presence during Fashion Month that makes Chang a top model-to-watch: She is fast becoming a regular in buzzy campaigns and splashy covers, too. When she’s not fronting ads for labels such as Acne Studios, she’s delivering her best poses for the front pages of Vogue Taiwan and Vogue Japan. (We may be biased—but we love a Vogue girl.) Chang is booked and definitely busy—and better yet, she also has the cool off-duty model style to match.

What’s your modeling discovery story?
I was scouted by a photographer while I was late to school, and I started my modeling career after signing with my mother agency.
Do you have any stories from living in a model apartment?
Most of the girls I’ve met are nice and sweet. Many of them came from different cities and countries, but all come with the same dream. Let me share a picture of the books girls left behind in a model apartment (above right).

What was your first runway show?
The Burberry [spring 2024] show. I wore a white embroidered jacket and pants set, with a blue strawberries-print halter top inside.
What has been your favorite job to date, and why?
That would be the Vogue Taiwan January 2022 cover story. The photos and the whole concept were so beautiful, and what made it really special for me were the props. On one of the covers, I’m holding a popsicle made from wastewater. I actually first saw these popsicles at an exhibition back in high school, they were already famous for their concept back then, so glad to see them shine again on this cover!
