Fashion Group International will present its annual FGI Night of Stars black-tie, red-carpet gala and awards celebration on Oct. 14 at the Rainbow Room in New York City.

Under the theme, “The Modernist,” the 42nd annual fashion gala will recognize six influential leaders whose visionary work transcends fashion, beauty and style to impact broader culture through creativity, innovation and transformative leadership. The reception begins at 6:15 p.m., followed by dinner and the awards presentation from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Wes Gordon, global creative director of Carolina Herrera, will receive the Fashion Visionary Award in recognition of his creative direction and contribution to modern American fashion. Fashion communications leader Lucien Pagès will receive the Media Leadership Award for his influence in shaping the global narratives of fashion’s leading creative talents and houses.

Celebrity fashion stylist Micaela Erlanger will take home the Style Award in honor of Edith Head. Head was among FGI’s charter members and remains one of the most influential costume designers in fashion and film history. Erlanger is recognized for her sophisticated visual storytelling, defining red carpet fashion moments, and transformative approach to the fashion business.

Designer, activist and philanthropist Henry R. Munoz 3rd will receive the Changemaker Award honoring his advocacy work on behalf of marginalized populations and his impact on design, architecture, culture and institutional equity.

“FGI Night of Stars continues to celebrate individuals whose vision has changed not only their respective industries, but the way we experience fashion and culture,” said Maryanne Grisz, FGI president and chief executive officer. “This year’s honorees embody the spirit of ‘The Modernist’ through their willingness to challenge convention and elevate new ideas. We look forward to bringing the fashion and beauty communities together again this fall to recognize their extraordinary achievements.”

The cocktail reception will be sponsored by Simon G. Jewelry, and hosted by Brooke Brinkman, chief operating officer of Simon G. Jewelry.

In celebration of “The Modernist,” Simon G. Jewelry will create a special commemorative brooch for the evening.
