Lacoste and The Plaza are serving up U.S. Open activities.

Lacoste and The Plaza will once again welcome Le Cafe Lacoste, the brand’s hospitality concept inspired by French cafe culture. The Palm Court with serve a re-imagined Afternoon Tea. There will also be new immersive hotel activations, including a transformed Fifth Avenue entrance, a lobby installation and an exclusive Lacoste retail pop-up inside The Plaza’s historic Edwardian room. This limited-time collaboration takes place throughout New York City’s tennis season from Aug. 12 through Sept. 5.

Executive Chef Muhannad Al Ateem and Executive Pastry Chef Kevin Clemenceau have designed a menu featuring fan favorites and new seasonal creations such as the signature Cafe Lacoste Polo pastry.

At the front of the hotel, the Fifth Avenue steps will be wrapped in signature Lacoste green, creating a photo opportunity. The Plaza’s grand lobby will feature a tournament-inspired installation. Just off the lobby, the retail pop-up in the Edwardian room features a curated collection of accessories and limited-edition pieces, including co-branded apparel created for the collaboration. The items include caps, bathrobes, tote bags and men’s and women’s polos, hoodie and crewneck sweaters retailing from $70 to $130.

Additional touches include specialty C(r)ocktails and themed music to bespoke decor.

“Last year’s partnership was a grand slam, and we’re thrilled to build on the success this season,” said Sam Ioannidis, managing director of The Plaza. “The Plaza and Lacoste share a passion for timeless style, craftsmanship, and creating memorable experiences. This year’s collaboration brings that vision to life across the hotel, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the excitement of New York City’s tennis season from the moment they arrive.”

“New York is one of the world’s great tennis cities and an important stage in Lacoste’s story,” said Eric Vallat, chief executive officer of Lacoste. “Returning to The Plaza allows us to celebrate that unique energy through an experience that brings together French elegance, hospitality and our sporting heritage in one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.”

Lacoste and The Plaza are teaming up for a U.S. Open collaboration.

In other Lacoste activities, Lacoste Foundation and City Parks will host a tennis clinic in Central Park on Aug. 28. Celebrating the 16-year partnership between both foundations, the public event will welcome about 100 participants including students from the City Parks tennis program, for an opportunity to refine their skills and gain insight from some of Lacoste’s players and ambassadors.

Lacoste will also partner with Extra Butter, the New York-based cinema-streetwear boutique for a limited-edition retail experience. Collaborating with Brooklyn-based chainstich artist Ramell- Correen Frederick (Tatoo’d Cloth), he will create 40 exclusive customized patches available for purchase at Extra Butter’s Long Island City store. For the launch on Aug. 29, he will create in-store customizations offering exclusive Extra Butter x Lacoste designs.
