Katy Perry brought a sculptural wave to the 2026 FIFA World Cup stage on Friday, performing in Aquazzura’s silver Sea Wave Wedge 105 during the Parade of Nations before the United States faced Paraguay at Los Angeles Stadium.

The singer gave “Wonder” its first live performance with 10-year-old Norwegian vocalist Tius Luka, coordinating the futuristic mules with a silver Stella McCartney fall 2026 ready-to-wear gown. Perry’s backless shoes combined a broad transparent PVC vamp with metallic trim around a softly squared, open toe. Aquazzura concentrated the volume at the heel, shaping the 105mm wedge into an upward curl and leaving a deep arc of negative space beneath the foot.
Aquazzura designed the Sea Wave silhouette to recall a shimmering wave, using transparent PVC and tonal metallic leather to create its fluid profile. Perry’s silver colorway does not appear on the label’s site, but the blue version is currently marked down 40 percent to $1,080 from $1,795.

The “California Gurls” singer carried the same fluidity through the rest of the look. She selected a sleeveless Stella McCartney gown with a high neckline, a close sequined bodice and an exaggerated peplum projecting from the waist. Below it, the floor-length skirt consisted of a dense curtain of long reflective strands. As Perry jumped during her performance, the fringe bounced up in a bell-shaped burst, repeatedly exposing the sculptural wedges. She finished the look with Rainbow K jewelry.

Perry has recently favored footwear that exaggerates a familiar evening shape. Three days earlier, she made her Tribeca red carpet debut with boyfriend Justin Trudeau in glossy white pumps with an extra-long pointed toe and a vintage Lanvin spring 1987 gown. At the Met Gala in May, she kept Stella McCartney’s crystal-covered mesh slingbacks on from the museum steps through an after party. For the World Cup, Perry moved the visual interest beneath the foot by selecting Aquazzura’s open wave shape.

She was not the only World Cup performer to favor a transparent wedge. One day earlier in Mexico City, Tyla performed South Africa’s national anthem in Jeffrey Campbell’s Booyah mules, which featured a clear vinyl upper, a cutout wedge and a metallic ring around the heel. Elsewhere in the opening celebrations, Shakira went in a heavier direction for “Dai Dai,” performing in white R13 Riot high-top sneakers set on thick hand-stitched platforms.
