Jordyn Woods Has Pretty Much Perfected Her Knicks Game-Day Routine

They say athletes are superstitious, but what about the WAGs?

These days, Jordyn Woods—who is engaged to New York Knicks power forward Karl-Anthony Towns—has her own routine down to a science. “Once playoffs start, everything becomes part of the ritual if we keep winning,” Woods tells Vogue after Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, where the Knicks bested the Cleveland Cavaliers, 109-93. “We’re nine wins in, and now I have my lucky Woods by Jordyn bag, my game-day GRWMs on TikTok, and a watch I refuse to take off. At this point, I’m not risking changing anything.”

“I created a sample of the Tux Clutch Mini specifically for the playoffs. I wore it for Game 1 during one of my TikTok GRWMs, and ever since then we’ve kept winning, so now it’s officially become the lucky bag,” she adds of her orange ostrich clutch. “It’s gotten to the point where if people don’t see me carrying it during a close game, they start blaming me for changing the routine. So let’s just say the bag isn’t leaving my side anytime soon.”

While Woods is sticking by her lucky bag, there’s room for a bit of spontaneity in the rest of her look. “My outfits are completely mood-based. Usually there’s one piece I know I want to wear, and then I build the look around it,” she says. Still, she’s subject to game-time decisions. “Most of the time I’m putting everything together an hour before I leave the house. Somehow the pressure always makes the look better.”

One of Woods’s favorite parts of the season is working with tailors and artists to bring Knicks-themed (and KAT-themed) looks to life. “My favorite pieces usually start as an idea in my head and come to life with the help of an incredible tailor who can execute the vision,” she says. “I’ll literally bring her a T-shirt or a pair of jeans and we’ll start cutting, pinning, and rebuilding it from there. I love the collaborative process of turning something simple into a one-of-one piece.”

For Game 2, she settled on a denim jacket with a photo of Towns on the back, along with his name (bedazzled in Knicks orange, of course) and number (32), and a pair of customized white pointy-toe pumps.

While Woods notes that she’ll always rep whatever team Towns plays for, “New York sets the bar incredibly high.” She adds: “The energy inside Madison Square Garden is unreal, and somehow the games almost always manage to give everyone a heart attack in the final minutes. There’s really nothing like a home game at the Garden.”

Here, Jordyn Woods brings Vogue along for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals at Madison Square Garden.
