THE WHAT? Flipkart Beauty is strengthening its presence in the premium beauty segment with the launch of its Global Beauty Luxe Store, as it looks to capitalise on growing demand for international and prestige beauty brands in India.
THE DETAILS The new platform gives Indian consumers access to more than 100 international beauty brands spanning dermocosmetics, skincare, fragrances and K-Beauty. Brands available through the Global Beauty Luxe Store include Eucerin, CeraVe, Cetaphil, Medicube, Beauty of Joseon, SKIN1004, Gucci and Calvin Klein. The launch comes as Flipkart reports strong momentum in its beauty and personal care business, with category growth of 50% year-on-year. Premium beauty products have grown by more than 60%, while Gen Z consumers now account for nearly 60% of beauty purchases on the platform. Demand is also expanding beyond major cities, with two-thirds of beauty searches originating from non-metro locations.
THE WHY? The launch reflects the ongoing premiumisation of India’s beauty market, where consumers are increasingly seeking science-backed skincare, international brands and specialised beauty products. For Flipkart, the Global Beauty Luxe Store supports its strategy to capture a larger share of the fast-growing premium beauty segment while strengthening its position against specialist beauty retailers and other e-commerce platforms.
