THE WHAT? Amazon has launched Amazon Supply Chain Services (ASCS), opening its logistics and fulfillment network to businesses beyond Amazon sellers.
THE DETAILS The new offering gives companies access to Amazon’s freight, distribution, fulfillment and parcel delivery capabilities, allowing businesses to move products from factories to customers using Amazon’s logistics infrastructure.
Amazon said the service is designed for companies across industries including retail, healthcare, manufacturing and automotive. Brands already using the network include Procter & Gamble, 3M, Lands’ End and American Eagle Outfitters.
ASCS includes transportation across ocean, air, rail and ground freight, alongside warehousing, inventory positioning and multi-channel fulfillment. The platform also offers parcel delivery with two-to-five-day shipping and seven-day-a-week service.
Amazon said the move builds on its existing logistics network developed for Amazon and third-party sellers, with more than 80 billion units shipped through Fulfillment by Amazon since 2006.
THE WHY? The launch reflects growing demand for integrated and technology-driven supply chain solutions as businesses seek greater efficiency, visibility and delivery speed.
