THE DETAILS Wildberries temporarily halted operations at its Voronezh warehouse after it sustained damage during an overnight drone attack. According to open-source analysis cited by Russian media, recent attacks have affected approximately 10% of the company’s logistics capacity, equivalent to around 552,000 square metres of warehouse space. Ukraine has said the warehouses form part of infrastructure supporting Russia’s military, while the Kremlin has denied the allegations, stating that the attacks have caused financial losses for Wildberries and the thousands of businesses that sell through its marketplace.
THE WHY? The disruption highlights the growing impact of geopolitical conflict on retail supply chains and e-commerce logistics. For beauty, personal care and consumer goods brands selling through online marketplaces, continued disruption to fulfilment infrastructure could affect product availability, delivery times and cross-border trade in the Russian market.
