A cherry detail here or a blueberry decal there on your summer mani is usually expected. But this year everyone is leaning all the way in with this food group and going bigger—and dare we say juicier—than before. Summer 2026 is all about bold fruit nails, including those inspired by strawberries, watermelons, and olives. (Yes, olives are technically a fruit!)
The best manis gracing all our social feeds are intricately made with fine details to give you an elevated spin on a classic summer design. “Fruit nails feel playful without trying too hard,” says celebrity nail artist Queenie Nguyen. “They’re colorful and nostalgic and instantly put you in a summer state of mind. I also love that they can be interpreted in so many ways, from tiny minimalist accents to more detailed, whimsical designs, so there’s a version that fits every style.”
Nail artist San Sung Kim adds: “They add a touch of whimsy to any look and are an easy way to add color and texture. Fruits are also fairly easy to draw as they are composed of organic and basic shapes, so many people can re-create the look on their own.”
How to Create Your Own Fruity Nail
The key, Nguyen says, is to keep it simple. Start with a sheer or neutral base, and build your fruit of choice one detail at a time. Also be sure to use the right tools. She recommends the Orly Dotter Duo for creating berries and polka dots and the Orly Short Detailer Brush or Long Detailer Brush for painting the tiny fruit details and leaves.
For more intricate looks, like Kim’s beaded art, she says first to draw on the fruits (these don’t have to be perfect since they’ll be covered with beads, she adds) and then use that as a guide to place your beads. She likes to use tiny caviar beads and multi-shaped nail rhinestones to emphasize texture, but any craft beads will work. Just be sure to use a high-quality painting gel and a non-wipe rhinestone glue gel to attach the beads.
And if it doesn’t look perfect, don’t worry. “Those little imperfections are what give hand-painted nail art its charm,” Nguyen says.
With that, if you’re looking for some fruity inspo, check out the seven best fruit nails below.
Blueberries With Polka Dots
These tiny blueberries add a sweet focal point to the polka-dot French mani without overwhelming the entire look. “The delicate details complement each other beautifully,” Nguyen says. “They give the manicure a playful, vintage-inspired charm that still feels fresh for summer.”
Watermelon Sparkle
This beaded watermelon design is a true work of art. Kim mixes green, red, black, and white beads and stones for a more intricate look that’s really stunning.
Strawberry Matcha
Everyone loves strawberries. Everyone loves matcha. So Nugyen decided to mix both for a delightful mani. “It’s a playful color combination that feels fresh, soft, and instantly recognizable,” she says.
Beaded Strawberry
Kim uses a combo of beads and stones to give these strawberries—a favorite of hers—a more textured feel, elevating the design. “I love creating the details with eye-shadow pigment for a diffused and more realistic look,” she says.
Martini Olives
Nothing says chic more than the classic ones you’d find in a gin martini. “Olives offer a more unexpected take on fruit-inspired nail art,” Nguyen adds. “The tiny hand-painted details feel effortlessly chic, bringing a subtle, Mediterranean-inspired touch that’s playful yet understated.”
Mini Beaded Fruits
Why settle on one fruit when you can have it all? Another favorite of Kim’s, these mini beaded fruits strike the perfect balance between detailed and minimally chic. “The extra touch with the embellishments really makes a statement without being too bold,” she says.
