Nike Air Max 90 ‘White/Aurora Blue’ Release Date IZ2746-100

Although Nike’s Air Max 90 might not hold quite the same level of notoriety as the perpetually popular Air Max 95 or the collaboration-favorite Air Max 1, it’s still very much an integral part of the sportswear brand’s legacy. And as the 1990 model approaches its 40th anniversary, Nike is finding new ways to refresh the retro running shoe.

Joining a recently released Safari Pack style is a new White/Aurora Blue Air Max 90 colorway which features some decidedly premium materials. Suited for summer in a mostly all-white look, the pair is outfitted with a mix of high-end leathers including a heavily tumbled mudguard, perforated leather on the base and a patent leather Swoosh for a variety of textures. 

The new pair even uses white leather on the shoe’s lower ribbed eyelets and at the lateral and medial Air Max badge, details which are typically rendered in TPU. The harder plastic material does appear at the top eyelets and on the heel logo, both of which feature a translucent Aurora Blue resulting in a look that’s reminiscent of Michael Jordan’s beloved “Columbia” Air Jordan 11. The icy blue look is also carried over to the outsole, but the style is otherwise an all-white affair.

While trends fluctuate, a pair of white leather sneakers remains a timeless summer look. Beyond this new Air Max 90, Nike has also leaned into the summertime theme by releasing a remastered version of its Triple White Air Force 1 ’01. The aforementioned Air Max 95 Big Bubble has also taken part in the theme, with a White/White/Pure Platinum/White available at retailers now.

This Nike Air Max 90 in White/Aurora Blue/White is available now in select markets, with a stateside release expected soon. The sneaker will retail for $150 with availability from nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers. Its style code is IZ2746-100.
