Jennie put a pop star spin on the quiet Western boot trend over the weekend, wearing a pair of Bared Footwear’s black leather Softtail Boots with a Dsquared2 look while performing at the Open’er Festival in Gdynia, Poland.

The Blackpink star wore the brand’s $509 knee-high style, which kept the cowboy boot language mostly to its stitching and shaft. Pale thread traced long mirrored loops up the black leather, with smaller angled lines framing the vamp and tapered toe. The pair hit close to the knee and finished with a softly curved top line, while a slim, block-style heel made the shape read more modern than a traditional stacked cowboy style.

Bared’s Softtail sat between a stage boot and a Western boot, which made it work with Jennie’s Dsquared2 look. She wore the Italian label’s black halter top with a plunging front cutout, shimmering panels and a white waistband, paired with Dsquared2 bikini logo briefs. A wide belt with a large silver-tone buckle added the clearest rodeo-adjacent note above the boot, though the overall styling stayed closer to pop performance than rodeo-ready.
Against the abbreviated Dsquared2 pieces, the tall shaft lengthened the line of the look, while the contrast stitching stayed visible even in the darker moments on stage. Jennie finished the performance outfit with a black “24-7Star” cap and oversize sunglasses, keeping the palette almost entirely black.

The choice landed in the more subtle Western space that has been building around celebrity footwear this year. Laufey wore archival black Chanel boots in New York with a similarly softened cowboy read back in March, mixing a curved shaft and minimal stitching with a preppy street-style look. Brands including Khaite, Larroudé and Adam Lippes’ Partlow collaboration have also pushed Western boots toward cleaner city shapes, using pared-back stitching, black leather and slimmer heels to move the style away from obvious rodeo references.

Jennie, who has recently joined Ray-Ban as a global brand ambassador, has been favoring sharp black footwear in different forms. In April, she wore Casadei’s satin Blade Twenties pumps with a sculptural Schiaparelli look at the Time100 Gala. At Open’er, that same preference for a precise black shoe moved into a boot, turning quiet Western into a stage-ready silhouette.
The set added another marker to her solo festival run, with Jennie billed this summer as the first K-pop artist to headline two major European festivals.
