THE WHAT? Sephora has appointed retail executive George Tsoukalas as General Manager of its Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) business, succeeding Mark O’Keefe.
THE DETAILS Tsoukalas joins Sephora from Heinemann Oceania, where he served as Managing Director, and brings 27 years of retail industry experience. His career has included leadership roles at L’Oréal, Elizabeth Arden and Scentre Group. He takes over from O’Keefe, who announced his resignation in February and is set to pursue a new opportunity in the beauty sector. Since launching in Australia in 2014, Sephora has expanded to more than 30 stores across Australia and New Zealand. Under Tsoukalas’ leadership, the retailer plans to introduce new beauty brands and initiatives while continuing to focus on customer engagement, brand partnerships and operational fundamentals.
THE WHY? The appointment supports Sephora’s next phase of growth in the ANZ market as the retailer seeks to strengthen its regional presence, expand its brand offering and reinforce its position in the prestige beauty sector.
