“We’re bringing the dickie jacket to Paris,” Veronica Swanson Beard told WWD during a preview of her and Veronica Miele Beard’s resort collection. The duo on Thursday will open the doors to their first Veronica Beard boutique in France in the Triangle d’Or Luxury District of the French capital.
As reported, the milestone opening reflects the growing demand for the label across international markets and its continued global momentum. This ethos expands across their latest ready-to-wear, accessories, shoe and jewelry collection, which is filled with an abundance of strong transitional dress.
Titled “Shape Shifter,” resort was designed to offer the Veronica Beard woman options for her travels between warm and cold climates. The idea came through a breezy polka dot tie-back blouse with matching pants contrasted by a taffeta tech anorak in bright blue, as well as a new white tweed jacket with internal quilting and little scarf “necklace,” paired with a matching miniskirt.
“It’s about having transitional styles and weights, but in emotional colors. Nobody wants anything that feels left over from holiday or too spring-y, so it’s about finding that balance,” Swanson Beard said of the collection’s eye-catching bright cobalt and emerald colors that not only came in the form of chunky cable knits, like a great striped knit dress with double sleeves tied around the waist, but also as hues that peeked through their exploded tweed and plaid motifs.
Alongside new takes on their bestselling dickie jackets (here with knit zip-ins) and ultra-chic yet practical outerwear, the duo continued to expand their offering of suiting, like a white bridal look cinched at the waist with gold and pearl hardware or a cropped gray blazer with removable shirting cuffs and matching cropped and pleated trousers. The look’s removable elements and gilded buttons spanned throughout the lineup with hints of playfulness, seen further through their bejeweled “collar bar,” gold chain hardware and snakeskin accessories.
All in all, a well-rounded offering for their increasingly global woman.
