Yesterday, Zendaya wore a sculpted Schiaparelli couture dress so new that it was taken straight off the Paris runway and delivered to the actor’s London premiere of The Odyssey.
If you thought it was the wildest look she’d pull out this press tour, you’d be severely mistaken. Sure, she didn’t have to charter a jet for her dress, but today in Paris, Zendaya traded the newest of the new for a serious archive pull.
Zendaya wore a look from Alexander McQueen’s spring 1997 couture collection for Givenchy—his first offering for the house. Dubbed “The Search for the Golden Fleece,” the collection took inspiration from the Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts, who went on a quest in search of a winged ram’s magical fleece.
For the Paris premiere of The Odyssey, Zendaya wore look three from the nearly 30-year-old collection, which was originally modeled on the runway by Debra Shaw. A far cry from Greek goddess dressing, this was a figure-hugging, corseted white long-sleeve dress with a high V-neck creeping up toward her ears and padded shoulders. In place of toga-esque drapery were exaggerated sleeves that hung over her forearms.
Always one to commit to a fashion moment, Zendaya wore the runway headpiece by Philip Treacy—an intricate gold mask that began beneath the apples of her cheeks and extended well above her head, reaching a sharp point.
Though there are nearly 30 years between McQueen’s Givenchy debut and Daniel Roseberry’s spring 2026 couture Schiaparelli runway, Zendaya and stylist Law Roach have managed to find a throughline. Together, they’ve fashioned a modern Athena who appears sculpted by the fashion gods herself.
