The fundraising comes as Walmart’s capital expenditure is projected to reach a record US$29 billion in 2027, supporting new stores, digital infrastructure and operational efficiency initiatives. The company also faces approximately US$3.3 billion in debt maturities next year. Investor demand for the US offering exceeded US$14 billion at its peak, while the Canadian issuance will allow Walmart to diversify its funding sources and broaden its investor base.
