Take Florence Pugh in one of the boldest ensembles. The actor hit the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere in London wearing a sculptural Tamara Ralph Couture gown in silver, with a fringed three-dimensional bodice. Like a walking chandelier! A few days prior across the waters in Los Angeles, the movie’s star Zendaya opted to go more dark and avant-garde, in her plunging Ashi Studio gown with a full ruffled skirt. (Not to be missed? In New York, Kaia Gerber kicked off her The Shards promo tour wearing a semi-sheer metallic Valentino strapless gown—talk about supermodel energy, talk about like mother like daughter. Ditto for catwalk star Karlie Kloss, who promoted her new children’s book Spaghetti Code (book club, anyone?) in a teal Dolce & Gabbana skirt suit that was all about playfully commanding attention and power.
As for the best color moment of the week? That goes to Gugu Mbatha-Raw in custom, canary yellow silky Dior, featuring an asymmetric silhouette and delicate leaf print. She encapsulated what summer dressing is all about. One’s wardrobe should be fun, upbeat, and smile-inducing.
