In this monthly roundup, beauty businesses are reshaping their people strategies as leadership changes, digital transformation and employee expectations move higher up the corporate agenda. From expanded parental benefits and senior appointments to executive succession and industrial action, the latest developments show that attracting, retaining and managing talent is becoming increasingly important to long-term growth.

Employee benefits are emerging as an important point of differentiation. Lush expanded its six-month paid parental leave policy to US retail and manufacturing employees, extending its people-focused approach across a larger part of its international workforce. As businesses compete for talent, benefits and workplace policies are becoming an increasingly visible part of employer positioning.

Senior marketing expertise remains central to brand development. Kao appointed Laura Hogan as Chief Marketing Officer of Molton Brown, putting new leadership behind the British beauty brand’s marketing strategy. Kiko Milano, meanwhile, appointed Marcello Mastrogiacomo to lead global brand strategy as the cosmetics company continues to develop its international positioning.

Leadership structures are also evolving at The Estée Lauder Companies. The group expanded a number of leadership roles as part of its push to accelerate digital transformation, reflecting the growing importance of technology, data and digital commerce across the organisation. It also reshuffled brand leadership following the retirement of Sandra Main, highlighting the wider succession planning underway as long-serving executives transition out of the business.

L’Oréal is strengthening leadership across its Asian operations. Manashi Guha was appointed Country Manager for Malaysia and Singapore, placing new leadership behind two important Southeast Asian markets. In India, the L’Oréal India Technology Hub appointed Kaustav Ghosh to lead its Commercial B2B portfolio, demonstrating how technology leadership is becoming increasingly integrated with commercial strategy.

Legal and governance expertise is receiving attention too. NIVEA India appointed Priya Dixit as General Counsel, strengthening its senior leadership capabilities as India’s beauty and personal care market becomes larger, more competitive and more complex from a regulatory perspective.

Executive departures continue to carry financial implications. Coty will continue paying its former CFO through June 2027 following a leadership transition, illustrating how senior executive changes can involve significant contractual commitments long after an individual has left an operational role.

Employee relations are also firmly in focus. Workers at Puig called a 24-hour strike over a pay dispute at the company’s Barcelona factory, highlighting the pressures that can emerge between workforce expectations and corporate cost management. As beauty companies navigate inflation and changing employment conditions, pay and working arrangements are likely to remain important considerations alongside broader growth strategies.

Taken together, this monthly roundup shows that the beauty industry’s people agenda is becoming increasingly multifaceted. Leadership succession, digital skills, international management, employee benefits and workforce relations are all competing for attention.

In 2026, building successful beauty businesses is not simply about finding the right executives—it is about creating organisations capable of attracting talent, developing future leaders and responding to changing expectations throughout the workforce.
