Princess Charlene of Monaco was gilded in an Elie Saab gold gown for the 2026 Red Cross Ball in Monaco on Saturday night alongside her husband Prince Albert II.

The royal wore a draped, shimmering champagne floor-length dress by the Lebanese designer. Crafted with a wrapped halter and asymmetric neckline, the dress’ construction included draping and pleating throughout.

Fabric gathered at the waist of the dress, which transitioned from a structured bodice to an A-line skirt with a train flowing at the back. Staying on par with recent trends, including “The Odyssey” cast’s international press tour, the dress evoked a Grecian style inspiration.

Princess Charlene coordinated her look with an Elie Saab clutch cast in shimmering gold. The royal completed her look with Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen earrings in 18-karat gold morganite, green tourmaline and diamonds.

While Elie Saab has been Princess Charlene’s go-to designer for events like the 2024 Rose Ball and the 2025 edition of the Red Cross Ball, Saturday night’s annual event has seen the royal embrace a trove of designer pieces from various labels and fashion houses over the years.

During her time as a member of Monaco’s royal family, Princess Charlene has worn designs by Louis Vuitton, Marchesa, Arkis and Versace, among others, to the annual Red Cross Ball. The previous designs ran the gamut from vibrant green crepe to strapless, structured fuchsia and more.

The 77th annual Red Cross Ball was held on Saturday night and commemorated nearly eight decades of work by volunteers and fundraisers financing the work of the international aid organization. Monaco’s Red Cross Ball was first held in 1948 by Prince Rainier III. Grace Kelly, who later married Prince Rainier, went on to host the ball in 1958, marking the event as an international spectacle.
