THE WHAT? Procter & Gamble has announced a major leadership reshuffle across four of its five business segments as part of a broader executive transition under CEO Shailesh Jejurikar, who took the helm in January 2026.
THE DETAILS The latest change sees Gary Coombe, CEO of P&G’s grooming division, retire and be succeeded by Juliana Azevedo, currently president of the company’s home care and professional businesses, effective July 1. Azevedo becomes one of P&G’s most senior female executives and a potential future CEO candidate. The reshuffle follows the retirement or planned departure of several long-serving leaders, including three female business unit heads: Alexandra Keith (Beauty), Jennifer Davis (Health Care), and Fatima Francisco (Baby, Feminine & Family Care). Their successors include Freddy Bharucha as head of Beauty, Paul Gama as head of Health Care, and Hesham Tohamy Abd El Hak as CEO of Baby and Feminine Care. P&G also highlighted the promotion of four women to president-level roles and noted that women represent 51% of its management workforce.
THE WHY? The leadership changes are part of the normal succession process that often follows the appointment of a new CEO, allowing Jejurikar to build his executive team and align leadership with the company’s future strategy. The appointment of Azevedo and other female executives also reinforces P&G’s ongoing focus on leadership diversity at a time when speculation continues over whether the company could eventually appoint its first female CEO.
