Nike First Sight Shadow: Official Look HQ2410-001 HQ2410-002

In March, Nike revealed its new women’s-exclusive First Sight collection, a trio of futuristic footwear drawing influences from track spikes, soccer cleats and basketball sneakers. The hoops inspiration plays out on the First Sight Shadow, a slip-on shoe which falls under the Foamposite family tree, at least in terms of aesthetics.

Following March’s preview, official Nike e-commerce images of the upcoming First Sight Shadow have surfaced which show the wavy design in all of its glory. According to Nike, the new model “juxtaposes the fierce energy of today’s top women’s hoopers with their femininity away from the game,” which seems to hint that the shoe is intended more for off-court recovery purposes than it is an on-court performance shoe.

Seen first in Foamposite-adjacent Triple Black (style code HQ2410-001) and Metallic Silver (style code HQ2410-002) colorways, the First Sight Shadow manages to get even weirder than many of the models that have come before it.

Its wavy, sculpted lines are paired with a dotted pattern throughout the upper, one which gets even more experimental near the heel with metallic TPU beads that feature an iridescent finish on the black colorway. And underfoot, the First Sight Shadow features a custom traction pattern inspired by the brand’s basketball sneakers.

“The brief for this collection was, ‘How can we make women fall in love with these shoes the first time they see them? What looks cool, appeals to her and feels new and exciting? We wanted to ground this collection in Nike’s athletic DNA while opening it up to the future through the lens of sportswear made distinctly for her,” Jeff Scott, expert of energy footwear at Nike, said of the First Sight collection in a press release.

With the First Sight Noir and First Sight Mirage already available in stores now, the First Sight Shadow is set to complete the trio with releases taking place at select retailers this month. A wider release is expected on Nike’s Snkrs app in the coming weeks. The shoes will retail for $145 each.
