THE WHAT? Lush has launched a new apprenticeship programme aimed at helping more young people enter the beauty industry through paid training and nationally recognised qualifications.
THE DETAILS The cosmetics retailer is piloting the scheme across its London spa locations in partnership with training provider Armonia. Targeting 16 to 24-year-olds not in education, employment or training (NEET), the programme offers 30 hours of paid work per week at a starting wage of £14.80 per hour, alongside practical spa experience and Level 2 and 3 beauty therapy qualifications. Training will combine hands-on work in Lush Spas with technical education at Armonia’s facility in Selby, Yorkshire, with plans to expand the initiative across England.
THE WHY? The programme reflects growing investment in workforce development as beauty companies seek to attract new talent, improve accessibility to careers in the sector and address skills shortages through higher-paid apprenticeship opportunities.
