CRAFT MOVEMENT: Eloise Hautcoeur has been named global communications director at Loewe, effective Monday.
She had held the same title at Versace in Milan since last July, coinciding with the brief but eventful chapter written by chief creative officer Dario Vitale.
At Loewe, she succeeds — and reports to — Thierry Conrad Reutenauer, who in February was promoted to chief marketing officer after four months as global communications officer.
Hautcoeur will have oversight of public relations, VIP and talent relations, and events, according to Loewe.
A graduate of the University of Arts London, Hautcoeur began her career as a global press and events assistant at Agent Provocateur, later joining Vivienne Westwood as global press officer, her LinkedIn page details.
She went on to work in London for communications agencies Starworks and KCD, working with brands including Chloé, Marc Jacobs and Fashion East. She later led communications in Northern Europe for Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta.
Hautcoeur joins Loewe a little more than a year after designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who earned fame as the founding duo of New York label Proenza Schouler, became the Spanish house’s new creative directors.
The American designers have brought jolts of color, youth and hot-blooded sensuality to the brand, while also leaning into its legacy of leather craft.
Loewe turns 180 this year, recently kicking off its anniversary year with a capsule collection, a frisky campaign, a special anniversary magazine and an animated film.
