Kate Middleton went for classic black-and-white gingham in a summery dress by Temperley London for The Royal Charity Polo Cup 2026 Guards Polo Club event on Friday in Egham, England.

The Princess of Wales, who was on hand to support Prince William, wore a Stirling gingham jacquard midi dress from the British brand. The sleeveless dress featured a square neckline with thick straps and a form-fitting bodice.
Cinched at the waist for added silhouette definition, the dress transitioned to a flowing skirt with a midi hemline, ideal for the summertime season. The black and white gingham pattern gave the dress a classic touch.

Instead of continuing her black and white color palette, Middleton opted for neutrals to accessorize her attire. The Princess of Wales wore Camilla Elphick pointed-toe slingback pumps in a tan shade, along with jewelry pieces in gold and brown.
Among those accessories, Middleton sported the Gabrielle earrings from Sézane in a coffee shade, Halcyon Days aquamarine and gold bangle bracelet and a Sézane howlite cuff. The complete look was ideal for the London summer heat, where temperatures reached over 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Founded by Alice Temperley in 2000, Temperley London designs have frequently been in Middleton’s royal wardrobe rotation. Over the course of the last several years, the Princess of Wales has worn dresses, sweaters and blouses by the London-based label.
Temperley herself also has a special connection to the royal family. The couturier and fashion label founder was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2011 by the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died at the age of 96 in September 2022. This week, Temperley revealed she is stepping away from the business she founded in 2000.

Middleton’s Temperley London dress is the second black and white look the Princess of Wales has styled as of late. During her visit to the Evelina London Children’s Hospital on Monday, Middleton wore the Suzannah London silk flippy wiggle shirtdress in white with black accents.
