After years of wearing Zuhair Murad‘s creations on some of the world’s biggest red carpets and stages, Jennifer Lopez finally took a seat in the designer’s front row for the very first time for his fall 2026 couture show Wednesday evening.
The singer and actress arrived in a sculptural ivory jacket embroidered with crystals and cinched with an oversized black bow, paired with a fully beaded fringe skirt from the spring 2025 couture collection. “I think it’s very rock ‘n’ roll,” she told WWD of the look. “I love it a lot. Sexy, beautiful, classic. It’s very Zuhair.”
Her appearance not only caused a frenzy, but also marked a milestone in a relationship that stretches back decades.
Asked what defines the Lebanese couturier, Lopez heaped praise on Murad.
“I think of glamour,” she said. “His stuff is always very embellished. But first of all, you can’t talk about Zuhair without talking about his fit, the way he knows a woman’s body. That’s the thing that attracted me. Yes, there are the spectacular creations, but there are very few designers who really understand a woman’s body and accentuate it.
“Whenever you put on one of his dresses, you feel like the most beautiful girl in the world,” she said.
Lopez recalled first discovering Murad late at night while watching runway shows on television. “I remember when I first saw his runway show years and years ago in the middle of the night, on Fashion Television — back when that was a thing,” she said. “It was amongst 30,000 other shows, and I was like, ‘Who is that? Where is that dress?’ I stalked him and found it, and wore it to the Met Ball that year.”
That was a strapless silver gown embroidered with leaves that she wore back in 2010.
Since then, Murad has become one of her go-to designers, dressing her for red carpets, concert tours and her Las Vegas residency. “My stylist would get angry at me because they’d say, ‘Well, no, not another Zuhair dress.’ And I’d say, ‘Yes, we’re wearing the Zuhair dress again.’”

Despite their long creative partnership, a packed schedule always kept Lopez from attending one of his Paris presentations until now.
“This is my first show with him,” she said. “I’ve never been able to make it. I’ve always been busy when he was doing his shows, and I’m very happy to be here today to support him.”
As for what comes next, Lopez said she is still riding high on the success of “Everything’s Fine,” with Alok, which was released on June 26, but she remained mum on what she’ll be up to after fashion week. “We’ll see what the year brings,” she said.
