Gillian Anderson gave the classic nude sandal a much higher profile at the “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday, wearing a blush-toned platform pair with an embellished white Miu Miu shirtdress.

The “X-Files” star’s nude-pink sandals had a thick front platform and a tall heel that tapered toward the base. Two skinny straps crossed the toes, while another ran diagonally over the instep and met a narrow strap just below the ankle before wrapping around the heel. From a distance, the color nearly blended with Anderson’s skin; the height became considerably more obvious in profile.

She paired the sandals with a white, short-sleeve Miu Miu shirtdress. The ankle-length silhouette had a pointed collar and a button-down front, with small clusters of gold-toned and clear embellishments scattered throughout. Anderson added a brown leather belt with a gold Miu Miu logo buckle, keeping the styling within the same warm neutral range. Martha Ward styled the look.

The sandals also had a recent red carpet near-twin, if not an identical one. Jennifer Lopez wore what appears to be the same elusive pair at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival in May.

Her warm metallic heels had the same thick platform, tall tapered heel and straps crossing the toes, instep and ankle. Lopez wore hers with Bronx Banco’s sage Brielle gown while receiving the festival’s inaugural Adelante Award for Industry.

Anderson and Lopez have not been alone in choosing high platforms this summer, although other celebrities have been less subtle about the finish. Sydney Sweeney wore black Christian Louboutin Rosalie Alta 150 sandals for a New York date night at the end of May. Lexi Minetree went in a more literal Y2K direction in June with Aldo’s rhinestone-covered Matelina platforms, which have a five-inch block heel. At Cannes, Eva Longoria closed the festival in metallic silver Santoni platforms after wearing towering René Caovilla and Flor de Maria pairs earlier in the week. Against black leather, allover rhinestones and metallic silver, Anderson’s skin-adjacent pair landed at the quieter end of the platform revival.
Anderson attended the premiere with costar Hannah Einbinder, director Jane Schoenbrun and other members of the cast. In the meta-slasher, she plays Billy, the reclusive original final girl whom Einbinder’s young filmmaker becomes fixated on bringing back for a franchise reboot. The film is slated for a limited theatrical release on Aug. 7.
