It wouldn’t be the Met Gala without a Gabrielle Union Wade in Michael Kors moment.
The longtime Kors supporter and husband Dwyane Wade were dressed for the Met Gala by the designer, in coordinating looks, and got ready for the big night at The Pierre hotel.
Union Wade wore a custom Michael Kors Collection cocoa-colored cutout gown with scattered sequins that took 480 hours to embroider. The gown features more than 107,000 crystals in two different sizes, which were individually placed atop a layer of delicate tulle.

“I wanted Gabrielle Union to look like a shimmering mermaid with the appearance of being nude and glistening at the same time,” Kors said. “Her cocoa crystal-encrusted tulle goddess gown is like a glamorous second skin and an homage to all the beautiful sculptures in the museum that focus on the nude body.”
“Fashion is art, and the body is also art,” Union Wade said later on the red carpet at the museum.

Union Wade was styled by Thomas Kikis, with makeup by Sam Fine, hair by Larry Sims and nails by Thuy Nguyen.
“This glam was next level — sculpted, glowy skin with a mod lash moment,” Union Wade said.
For the couple, the Met Gala is “the ultimate date night.”
