From the outset, being a model seems like a glamorous job (and in many ways it is!) it also requires a great deal of patience. The long days can be spent waiting around, with runway regulars spending hours waiting their turn for hair and makeup, castings, and fittings.
So it comes as no surprise that models are giving a new meaning to getting booked. While hanging backstage at the Schiaparelli fall 2026 couture show, model Victoria Fawole dug into The Diary of Anaïs Nin. “Reading backstage gives me a quiet moment to step away from the pace of the day,” she says. “I always come away from her work feeling inspired to pay closer attention to my own thoughts and the world around me.”
Many of her colleagues would agree—though there’s no limit on genre. Sam Saba, who had the distinct honor of opening and closing Armani Privé, embraced the classics this season, while Luiza Perote dug into a fantasy series backstage at Standing Ground.
