THE WHAT? DBG Beauty has appointed Michelle Kluz as Global Chief Executive Officer to lead its portfolio of beauty brands.
THE DETAILS Kluz joins from Stila, where she served as CEO, and will now oversee brands including MCo Beauty, Nude by Nature, Esmi Minerals and Poni. MCo Beauty is known for its “dupe” strategy, offering affordable alternatives to prestige cosmetics, a model Kluz described as a fast-moving, trend-led approach.
The appointment follows significant investment momentum, including a A$1.6 billion investment by BDT + MST for a 25% stake in DBG Health, valuing the group at around $5 billion. Kluz will lead global expansion efforts, building on MCo Beauty’s growing international footprint, including its US rollout across approximately 1,500 Kroger stores and nearly 2,000 Target locations.
Looking ahead, DBG Beauty aims to evolve into a global “house of brands,” with plans to scale through acquisitions and incubation, positioning itself alongside established beauty conglomerates.
THE WHY? The leadership appointment reflects DBG Beauty’s ambition to accelerate global growth and transition into a diversified, competitive beauty group by leveraging scale, investment and a multi-brand strategy.
