After spending much of July in closed pointed-toe pumps, Charli XCX changed course at Friday’s “Music, Fashion, Film” pop-up in Los Angeles a pair of glossy black heels.

The “Rock Music” singer wore Black Suede Studio’s Alessia mules, a black patent style with a broad curved vamp, an almond-shaped peep toe and a slim 100mm stiletto heel. The silhouette, which usually retails for $300, is currently on sale for $150 on the label’s website.

Charli paired her fitted, asymmetrical top with micro shorts finished with two rows of gold-tone buttons at the waistband. She carried Saint Laurent’s quilted Niki Leather Shopping Tote and added narrow black sunglasses, a Cartier Panthère watch and her Claude Morady solitaire engagement ring. The look retained the micro shorts and dark glasses she wore throughout “Brat” summer, then made the familiar formula more polished with her Cartier watch, structured tote and high-shine mules.

Until Friday, Charli had spent most of July favoring a closed, pointed-toe pump. She wore white Dior leather pumps for her July 14 pop-up in London. Four days later, she chose Jimmy Choo’s Love Sling Back 85 pumps for Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel’s wedding and was also spotted in Christian Louboutin’s black Kate pumps with Agent Provocateur’s Brandi dress the same day.

This was not Charli’s first Black Suede Studio mule. In a behind-the-scenes look at “The Moment” shared earlier this year during the Sundance Film Festival, she wore the label’s black leather Icon 80, a closed, pointed-toe design.

Charli staged Friday’s pop-up for the July 24 release of her seventh studio album, “Music, Fashion, Film.” Working with A.G. Cook and Finn Keane, she traded some of “Brat’s” club electronics for a rawer, guitar-led sound and turned her attention to creativity and post-“Brat” fame. The standard cover interprets the title through three figures: musician John Cale, designer Marc Jacobs and filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
