THE WHAT? CHANEL has officially opened its new fragrance manufacturing facility in Venette, France, consolidating all of its perfume production into a single site following a €150 million investment.
THE DETAILS Located in the Oise region of northern France, the 30,000-square-metre production building sits within a 41,600-square-metre complex on an 18-hectare site acquired by CHANEL in 2016. The facility is capable of producing up to 50 million fragrance bottles annually and will manufacture the company’s entire fragrance portfolio, including N°5 and CHANCE EAU SPLENDIDE. The site is expected to create between 250 and 300 jobs, with around 200 employees transferring from CHANEL’s existing Compiègne facility, which will now focus exclusively on beauty product manufacturing. The project was first announced in 2022, with operations commencing in June 2026 after a decade of planning and development.
THE WHY? The investment strengthens CHANEL’s fragrance manufacturing capabilities at a time when luxury fragrance continues to outperform the wider beauty market. By consolidating production into a single, modern facility, the company aims to improve operational efficiency, increase manufacturing capacity and support continued growth in one of its strongest-performing product categories.
