THE WHAT? Chanel has appointed veteran make-up artist Lucia Pieroni as Creative Makeup Director, strengthening the creative leadership of its global colour cosmetics business.
THE DETAILS Pieroni will lead make-up artistry for Chanel’s fashion shows and oversee creative direction for its cosmetics line, working alongside the house’s Makeup Creation Studio and reporting to Simona Cattaneo, President of Fragrance and Beauty. She has worked with Chanel Creative Director Matthieu Blazy since his runway debut in 2025 and previously spent more than a decade leading creative direction for Shiseido’s Clé de Peau Beauté, where she helped develop its luxury colour cosmetics portfolio. The appointment follows Chanel’s previous Comètes Collective model, which brought together three make-up artists to share creative responsibilities.
THE WHY? The appointment signals a renewed focus on building a more distinctive creative identity for Chanel’s make-up business, an important part of the house’s beauty portfolio and an accessible entry point into the wider luxury brand.
