C.P. Company presented something old and new for spring 2027.
President of the outerwear specialist brand Lorenzo Osti highlighted how the collection’s garments integrate aspects of the brand’s DNA.
“There is an honest celebration of our origin,” he said. Featured were replicas of the archival Mille Miglia goggle jacket his father and company founder Massimo Osti created in 1988. They came with a sun-faded look nodding to the brand’s archival garments with some discoloration.
C.P. Company is renowned for fabric research. Part of its lineup was a newly developed 3D camo made by acid-melting nylon fabric that’s dyed after. “It’s a very playful system — we can use it in many ways — and the aesthetic is set from the industrial process,” Osti said.
As C.P. Company is community-driven, it started an iteration of Behind the Seams in 2021, when a book celebrating the brand’s 50th anniversary was made with photographs of members of its community wearing archival garments they’d chosen.
For the recent Behind the Seams edition, people were invited to C.P. Company’s Veneto and Bologna facilities in Italy. “We do this not only to share, but to see how people see us,” Lorenzo Osti said. “It’s always somehow refreshing having someone else looking at you.”
Visitors, who could freely browse, might home in on items laid dormant for years, thus giving a fresh, new perspective, he continued.
This was the second season the brand held a Paris showroom.
