You’ve seen them gracing the feet of OG Anunoby (one of the most-searched Knicks players since the start of the 2026 NBA Playoffs) during pivotal moments like that game-winning tip-in and his 9-of-13 performance for Game Three. They’ve also been shouted out by a different type of icon — specifically Martha Stewart, who made an Instagram post on May 21 spotlighting her “favorite” sneakers from the brand, as spotted on Anunoby. The latter proceeded to send her a signed pair.

We’re talking about Skechers’ basketball shoe lineup, of course, which has received an overwhelming amount of attention after Anunoby became the first player to wear Skechers during the NBA Finals.

The two most prominent, bespoke styles worn by Knicks’ #8 were the Timberland boot–coded “Foreman” SKX Reign shoe and the SKX Nexus in “NYC Blue”: the exact model he donned on the fortuitous evening of June 10, clinching a win for his team with just 1.2 seconds left on the clock.

On the note of the latter, Anunoby, who first expressed interest in Skechers while he was still playing for the Toronto Raptors, said that this pair was his most meaningful, being “a nod to the City, [his] team, and most importantly, the best fans anyone could ask for.”

“The SKX Reign ‘Foreman’ is a shoe built on hard work, defense, and dedication, and the SKX Nexus ‘NYC Blue’ — an homage to the Knicks and this incredible moment — [is also] a reflection of that. Debuting them on the Finals stage [was] a surreal moment,” the 28-year-old star continued.

After the headline-generating victory, Skechers revealed that Anunoby will be getting his own signature sneaker. “It’s too early to share specific details, but we do have a signature shoe in the works,” Skechers’ president Michael Greenberg stated in a press release.

Skechers confirmed that a limited run of Anunoby’s player-exclusive SKX Nexus colorway will be put up for pre-orders soon, and you can sign up for alerts from the brand here (as tens of thousands of eager shoppers have already done).

Want to skip the hassle and get your hands on a performance-optimized basketball shoe faster? Understandably so, and this Anunoby-backed, found-online alternative still checks all of our boxes: catering to “quick, agile players who want a fast, responsive court feel,” as Skechers puts it.

Skechers managed to fully sell out its SKX Reign offering just days after it appeared as part of Anunoby’s gametime getup: no surprise given that high-visibility placement. We’re pleased to report, though, that the shoe is back on shelves for your shopping convenience, alongside a slew of other options for both amateur players and Anunoby-level professionals.

Unlike the low-top that is the SKX Nexus, Skechers’ SKX Reign is a mid-top dedicated to keeping you stable, aware, and fully in control during every minute of the game. Per the label, “for a two-way player like OG, it supports the explosive side of the game: quick first steps, elevation, lateral movement, and controlled changes of direction.”

Here’s everything to know about the family-founded, circa-1992 shoe destination’s basketball line and top performance sneakers to buy this year.

    Does Skechers Sell Basketball Shoes?

Skechers’ hero Hands-Free Slip-ins are by far its most recognizable shoes, but the brand successfully entered the sports sphere in 1998 — first with athletic-inspired silhouettes that could just as easily work in more laidback spaces and then by unveiling Skechers Performance, launched in 2011 with the goal of doubling down on technical specs across activities like running, walking, and golf, only to be expanded a decade later to accommodate more specialized pursuits such as pickleball, basketball, and football.

Skechers officially entered the basketball market in October 2023, marking the occasion with fresh releases like the SKX Resagrip and SKX Float that quickly gained industry recognition. In tandem with this extension, the brand signed on multiple leading players to rep the collection in action: Anunoby in July 2025, yes, but also Rickea Jackson, Isaiah Hartenstein, Julius Randle, Joel Embiid, and beyond.

This year, Skechers announced a multiyear partnership with the WNBA, becoming an official partner of the league right in time for its momentous 30th season.

To help propel the overachieving kicks to the level of stardom enjoyed by their ambassadors, Skechers strategically mined and integrated itself within key cultural moments — letting its SKX Resagrip get Snoop Dogg’s “Boss Treatment” in 2024 and, just this month, propping up a timeless streetwear symbol of NYC (none other than that wheat-hued Timberland) by repurposing its design codes in service of an on-court stepper.

Best Skechers Basketball Shoes to Shop Online

Currently, the Skechers Basketball roster holds over 40 products, spanning and apparel alike (peep that “World Champion” tee with Anunoby’s name on it, a new addition).

The SKX Nexus is considered the G.O.A.T. — sold in 10 energizing shades, in men’s and women’s sizes.

This low-top beaut offers dependable ankle support, maximum stability via a torsion plate, superior cushioning, bouncy responsiveness secured by Skechers’ Hyper Burst Technology, and Goodyear-provided grip for quick cuts and eleventh-hour Hail Marys.

So too is the SKX Reign, hot off its Anunoby endorsement, a standout for Skechers, and based on how rapidly the shoe’s stock depleted in inventory just this month, you’d be wise to snag it right away.

    Skechers SKX Reign Basketball Shoe

All versatile players are sure to appreciate Skechers’ priciest yet most feature-loaded basketball arrival. While its Nexus cousin flaunts a stabilizing torsion plate, this baby takes advantage of a full-length, carbon-infused one — treating you to peak explosiveness. The traction here, meanwhile, is deemed “intense,” and the SKX Reign’s dual-density midsole will spare you from feeling the effects of that maple hardwood flooring.

For something a bit more visually subdued, turn to Skechers’ SKX League 2.0 selection, made with all-around play in mind. Slightly more affordable than its SKX Nexus (and certainly SKX Reign) counterparts, it accentuates durability and springiness while boasting a more composed and elegant look courtesy of those leather overlays on the upper.

Skechers SKX League 2.0 Basketball Shoe

Also available in lime-green-on-white, red, and navy color schemes, the SKX League 2.0 retains impressive breathability even during your most heated plays; features an internal shank for “first-step stability,” per Skechers; guarantees impact absorption with its sockliner and midsole cushioning system; and will keep you looking just as good in the arena as you do on the city streets.

Seeking another athlete-approved Skechers buy? Look no further than the SKX JE1, which was co-created with Embiid himself and is a veritable O.G. for the label — being its first signature basketball shoe.

“The focus throughout the [creation] process was innovation in comfort and support to meet the demanding needs of Joel’s game,” Ben Stewart, vice president of Skechers’ Technical Performance Division, said in a statement. “The SKX JE1 is not only the best shoe for Joel, it will help elevate any player’s game.”

    Skechers SKX JE1 Basketball Shoe

Think of the SKX JE1 as the prototype for Skechers’ excellence in the basketball space. Engineered with real-time feedback from an NBA All-Star and former MVP, the shoe turns heads by way of its 3D-printed lockdown cage — keeping sturdiness a priority in the thick of a fast-paced quarter and contributing to one of the most abstract appearances we’ve seen on Skechers’ site to date.

More to look forward to: an arch-friendly, foot-contouring, podiatrist-certified sockliner and a plush collar plus tongue to curb all annoyances when you’re trying to concentrate.

Subtle nods to its creator can be seen on the heel (whose three points symbolize “the pillars of Joel’s life: heritage, sports, and family”) and insole (that internal “Miniature Géant” logo reps Embiid’s production company).

If you’re known, and respected, for your speed, you’ll find a lot to love in the SKX Full-Court — including exceptional flexibility; a lighter-than-average weight; a Versa Wing midsole for better lateral reinforcement as you’re sidestepping or changing direction; and the kind of tire-like traction that will allow you to execute physics-defying buzzer beaters without being afraid of the court turning into a Slip ‘N Slide.

Skechers SKX Full-Court Press Basketball Shoe

The SKX Full-Court Press’ pièce de résistance? It has a podiatrist-designed shape “developed with 20 years of data and 120,000 unweighted foot scans,” according to the brand. Can you sense Skechers’ dedication to your foot health and continued athletic achievements?

Over the past few weeks, riding high on all the glory, Skechers put even more of its previously retired basketball buys back in rotation. Below, two other shoes to grab — effectively rounding out what’s already in your locker.

    Skechers SKX Resagrip Basketball Shoe

Hotmelt overlays grant a locked-down feel, embroidered perforations make thermoregulation a guarantee, and Goodyear Resagrip tech (hence the name) doles out indoor traction that won’t let you down in this sub-$150 basketball shoe.

    Skechers SKX B-Lite Basketball Shoe

Made especially for women, the SKX B-Lite delivers underfoot cushiness with its heel pillow and Move Foam insole. This is a style that won’t weigh you down as you’re reaching for the net, and reviewers report that it “feels like clouds.”
