Sportmax Resort 2027 Collection | Vogue

At Sportmax, every season comes with a conceptual hook, and for resort 2027 the brand found it in architecture. Not the gravity-defying, Zaha Hadid-inspired curvilinear futurism promised in the moodboard, but something more pragmatic: an exploration of the elusive art of making tailoring feel light and volumes weightless.

The design team refined the label’s familiar vocabulary of sharp construction, softening its rigor by stripping jackets and dusters of gravitas through airy layers of nylon and silk organza. Geometry provided the underlying logic; dresses grew from square and rectangular panels that unfolded into fluid silhouettes, while sheer inserts, pleats, and overlapping panels created an interplay between concealment and exposure. If architecture was present, it was referenced as a way of organizing space around the body.

The strongest looks embraced that restraint. A translucent suit had a breezy feel, as did a lightweight technical bomber worn with sheer cargo pants. Elsewhere, fringing was used sparingly on knitwear and more exuberantly on bustiers and gilets, introducing movement as decoration.

Not every architectural metaphor translated from moodboard to wardrobe, but perhaps that was beside the point. The collection worked best when it simply delivered what Sportmax does well: clothes with clarity, and just enough experimentation to make everyday dressing feel a little less ordinary.
