THE WHAT? Reckitt has agreed to sell its Russian Hygiene business to Arnest Management LLC, continuing the company’s strategic withdrawal from parts of the Russian market while retaining its consumer health operations in the country.
THE DETAILS The Russian Hygiene business accounted for approximately 1% of Core Reckitt’s net revenue in 2025 and will be classified as held for sale until the transaction completes, which is expected during the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Reckitt will retain ownership of its Russia Health business, which continues to supply consumer health products. The company expects to record a post-tax loss of around £175 million as a result of the divestment, reflecting restrictions associated with exiting the Russian market. However, Reckitt said the transaction is not expected to have a material impact on its adjusted operating profit or adjusted earnings per share for 2026.
THE WHY? The divestment reflects the continued restructuring of multinational consumer goods businesses in response to geopolitical risks and international sanctions, while enabling Reckitt to simplify its portfolio and focus on core growth markets without significantly affecting overall financial performance.
