THE WHAT? L’Oréal has achieved its target of sourcing 100% renewable electricity across all operated sites and stores worldwide where it holds an electricity subscription, five years ahead of its 2030 goal.
THE DETAILS The milestone was delivered through the company’s L’Oréal for the Future sustainability programme and covers manufacturing plants, research and innovation centres, distribution centres, administrative offices and eligible retail stores. L’Oréal said it followed a three-step approach of reducing energy consumption, improving energy efficiency and transitioning remaining electricity demand to renewable sources through on-site generation, long-term renewable energy partnerships and certified renewable electricity.
THE WHY? Reaching 100% renewable electricity supports L’Oréal’s wider climate strategy by reducing the environmental impact of its global operations and advancing its long-term sustainability commitments.
