THE WHAT? Natura has launched The Future P&L, a free digital platform that enables companies to measure and monetise the social, environmental and human value they create alongside their financial performance.
THE DETAILS Developed with Africa Creative, the platform is based on Natura’s Integrated Profit & Loss (iP&L) methodology, which the company has used internally since 2021 to quantify its socio-environmental impact. The interactive tool allows businesses to confidentially input data relating to areas such as workforce, suppliers, plastic waste and social investment, translating these into financial values using standardised metrics. Natura said the methodology has helped identify more than US$9 billion in accumulated positive socio-environmental impact. The initiative supports the company’s long-term sustainability ambitions, including generating BRL$4 in positive social and environmental impact for every BRL$1 of profit by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
THE WHY? The platform responds to growing demand from investors, regulators and stakeholders for businesses to integrate environmental and social impacts into corporate reporting and decision-making, while encouraging wider adoption of regenerative business practices.
