THE WHAT? CK Hutchison Holdings is considering the sale of European beauty retailer Marionnaud to BEHN, a company founded by Groupe Bogart CEO David Konckier.
THE DETAILS No financial terms have been disclosed. CK Hutchison said Marionnaud will continue operating as normal throughout the process, with no changes to day-to-day operations. Marionnaud operates more than 700 perfumeries and cosmetics stores across France, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Romania and Switzerland. BEHN was established by David Konckier, who is also a major shareholder in French fragrance and cosmetics company Groupe Bogart.
THE WHY? The potential transaction would transfer one of Europe’s largest beauty retail chains to a specialist beauty industry investor, potentially opening a new phase of ownership focused on the perfumery and cosmetics sector.
