Michelle Obama, her daughter Malia, and Jill Biden were all of the same mind when opting for a shoe to wear to the grand opening of the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago on Thursday. While Sasha Obama and Christina Aguilera opted for strappy sandals, the trio opted for more formal pointed-toe pumps.

The former first lady joined her husband on stage wearing crisp white Thom Browne patent leather wingtip pumps. The shoes feature a distinctive sculpted heel, the designer’s signature striped red, white and blue lining, and a signature striped pull-tab at the heel in the same colors.
The shoes feature a faux lace-up and brogue details at the vamp. She paired the white heels with a gray, striped skirt suit by the designer, which featured gold buttons and a frayed detail around the blazer.

Malia and Sasha coordinated with their mom’s color palette, arriving at the opening of the center in white and gray looks. Sasha opted for a white off-shoulder top with a matching skirt, paired with a thick brown belt featuring a large circular buckle. She paired the look with dark brown Miu Miu sandals featuring metallic embellishments and an 85mm stiletto heel. Malia wore an office-chic-inspired look, opting for a light gray blazer and skirt with matching pointed-toe, kitten-heel pumps in a gray pinstripe design.

Another stylish former first lady also joined in on the celebrations. Former President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden arrived at the ceremony on Thursday. Jill wore one of her go-to power skirt suits, with gold buttons for added flair, with a pair of dainty nude-colored Valentino Garavani VLogo Signature pumps featuring a tonal VLogo detail on the vamp.

The Bidens weren’t the only first family to show the Obamas love at the event. The Clintons and the Bushes were also in attendance, and the four former first ladies posed for a photo together inside the building. While Biden and Obama opted for pointed-toe pumps, Bush and Clinton opted for comfort, wearing all-black flat shoes. Bush went for a round-toe ballerina flat, while the former senator went for a pointed-toe design.
