THE WHAT? Charlotte Tilbury, Founder, President, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, has been awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours 2026 for services to the beauty and cosmetics industry.

THE DETAILS The honour recognises Tilbury’s role in building Charlotte Tilbury Beauty into one of the UK’s most successful global beauty brands since its launch in 2013. The business now operates in 57 markets, has more than 5,500 distribution points worldwide, employs over 3,000 people, and is the UK’s number one prestige makeup brand. Tilbury, who has more than 34 years of experience as a makeup artist, was previously awarded an MBE in 2018. Her company achieved a valuation of more than £1 billion following Puig’s investment in 2020 and has become known for bestselling franchises such as Pillow Talk and AIRbrush, as well as innovations in digital beauty and AI-powered personalisation. Beyond business, Tilbury supports several charitable organisations, including The King’s Trust, the Clooney Foundation for Justice, the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Women for Women International.

THE WHY? The CBE recognises Tilbury’s contribution to transforming the beauty industry through innovation, entrepreneurship and global brand-building, while also highlighting the growing economic importance of the UK beauty sector, which has expanded from approximately £17 billion in 2013 to more than £31 billion today.
