THE WHAT? Garnier has appointed Kenyan content creator and media personality Azziad Nasenya as its first-ever Kenyan brand ambassador in East Africa, coinciding with the launch of its new Even & Bright Serum Cleanser.
THE DETAILS The partnership was announced in June 2026 and centres on Garnier’s new two-in-one Even & Bright Serum Cleanser, supported by the campaign slogan “Dust ni Constant. Glow ni Choice.” Azziad described the appointment as a historic moment for Kenyan representation in global beauty and noted that she has been using Garnier products for around five years. Garnier, part of the L’Oréal Group, operates within L’Oréal’s East African hub in Kenya, which serves markets including Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia. The appointment follows Azziad’s selection earlier this year as Maybelline New York’s Digital Spokesperson for Sub-Saharan Africa, making her the first East African to hold that position. Garnier highlighted its commitment to African consumers through research facilities in Kenya and South Africa that help develop products tailored to local skincare needs.
THE WHY? The appointment reflects L’Oréal’s strategy of deepening localisation efforts across Africa by partnering with influential local voices who can connect authentically with consumers. It also underscores the growing importance of East African beauty markets and the increasing role of creators and digital influencers in driving brand awareness and engagement among younger consumers.
