When Timothée Chalamet has a vision, you better believe it’s going to be in high definition, be it an Oscars campaign or a courtside view. Sitting next to Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, and girlfriend Kylie Jenner on the New York Knicks’ celebrity row, he’s embraced all things satsuma orange and royal blue for his hometown basketball team’s historic run. (It only took him 14 years to get his uniform down.) Behind Chalamet’s superfan wardrobe are two very important co-conspirators—the Stark family, who are behind the L.A-based, fashion rebel favorite brand Chrome Hearts.
“Timothée is like a muse,” says Laurie Lynn Stark, president and co-owner of Chrome Hearts. “He comes in, he works closely with us on looks, he does his fittings. He’s an amazing person to work with; he knows exactly what he wants but is also so willing to engage with us and work collaboratively. It’s my son [designer Kristian Jack Stark] that has a special relationship with him, and that’s just grown as we’ve kept dressing him.”
The actor has been wearing the brand as far back as 2018 when he was first breaking out for his role in Call Me By Your Name. Ever since, he and stylist Taylor McNeill have called upon Chrome Hearts for street style and red carpet moments: he wore an acid green shirt, bolo tie, and leather suit to the 205 SAGs; a black, sharp-lapeled suit to the 2026 Golden Globes; and famously coordinated in ping-pong ball orange leather looks with Jenner for the Marty Supreme premiere.
Since the New York Knicks began their upward trajectory last year, Chalamet has been collaborating with Chrome Hearts on custom looks. For the Knicks’ May 2025 game against the Boston Celtics, he wore a custom velour tracksuit with those now courtside-staple cross-patched Timberland boots. He’s worn cross-embellished vintage jeans and C.H-logoed caps, a souped-up bomber jacket, and cross-emblazoned Uggs.
For the nail-biting game against the San Antonio Spurs last night (June 8), Chalamet showed up in his most outré outfit yet: an orange leather Chrome Hearts tracksuit with white piping and T.C initials, paired with those same Timberland boots.
,Just two nights later, on Jun 10, Chalamet would return to Madison Square Garden to watch game four from his usual courtside perch. This time, he was in yet another custom Chrome Hearts fit, this time a denim-on-denim look: jeans and a trucker-style jacket, with the brand’s signature Gothic cross appliqués at the elbows, chest and hem of his pants. He also wore a bright orange belt, and long chains—plus assorted metallic rings and a choker necklace. Next to him was his longtime girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, in a matching outfit, though she ultimately decided to slip out of the jacket. It is hardly the first time the couple has gone the twinning route—heck, it’s not even the first time the couple has worn matching custom Chrome Hearts.
“At Chrome Hearts, we don’t pick brand ambassadors,” adds Stark. “We like people to be involved, and we’re naturally forging these relationships.” The full orange leather is her favorite look so far, riffing off the orange suit he wore with Jenner—who is also a fan of the brand. “I love how he’s incorporated his wardrobe with hers,” says Stark. “And he really thinks about how he puts a look together: the boots, the socks, he’ll pick a ring, all of it.” Stark shares that Chrome Hearts will work with Chalamet on a few looks, and they won’t know exactly what he’s wearing until he ambles up courtside.
And despite Monday night’s loss against the San Antonio Spurs, the New York Knicks’ fairytale story isn’t over just yet. The team is still an odds-on favorite to win their first championship in 53 years (!). And you can expect more Timothée Chalamet-Chrome Hearts collabs to come, maybe courtside, definitely otherwise.
