Timberland’s Iconic Work Boots Inspire Skechers’ New NBA Finals Shoes

Skechers is making the most of its moment in the NBA Finals spotlight.

After New York Knicks star OG Anunoby gifted fellow Skechers ambassador Martha Stewart her favorite sneakers before the series tipped off, the Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based footwear company has now prepped a fitting player exclusive style for the defensive standout ahead of Monday’s Game 3 from Madison Square Garden. 

Anunoby will debut the just-revealed Skechers SKX Reign “Foreman” PE during Game 3. With its wheat-colored upper, two-tone boot laces woven into the upper and gum rubber outsole touchers, Skechers says the sneaker is inspired by both New York City and Anunoby’s “grit, resilience, and workmanlike mentality.” 

Of course, the unspoken inspiration comes from another New York fixture, the Timberland Premium 6-Inch Waterproof Boot. The iconic work boot is not only an NYC staple, but has also been symbolic of the Knicks’ historic season. 

As a celebration of the tough work put in by each night’s Defensive Player of the Game, the team would often give the winner hard hats and Timberlands in the locker room. Now, the playful moment will continue on the NBA Finals court courtesy of Anunoby’s new exclusives.

“OG Anunoby competing in the NBA Finals in Skechers is a milestone moment for our brand. After entering the performance basketball market for the first time in October 2023, Skechers added Anunoby to its roster in July 2025. 

As of publishing, there are no plans for the Skechers SKX Reign Foreman to be released at retail, but fans can get a closer look at the pair in action Monday when the Knicks return home to host the San Antonio Spurs for Game 3 at 8:30 p.m. ET. And while the Foreman PE is unlikely to be released to the public, readers can find other Skechers SKX Reign styles from skechers.com and Skechers stores for $185.
